The Automotive Power Adapter from MikroTik provides extreme voltage protection and other safety features to safeguard your LtAP and other devices from aggressive vehicle environments.

 

Unstable vehicle battery, cable connection issues, backup power operation, or even just changing the AC unit - dangerous voltage surges can occur anywhere, anytime! The built-in gas discharge tube is a sophisticated and intelligent solution. Typically, when placed in a small glass tube, this gas does not conduct electricity. However, when high voltage is applied, the gas ionizes and provides a new low-resistance path for the excessive voltage to flow. Otherwise, it could damage your devices with excessive voltage!

Another layer of protection is a TVS: a transient voltage suppression diode. This combination of layers protects your devices from excessive voltage surges. We also added active polarity protection, so your devices remain safe even if power is applied incorrectly. Additionally, a built-in low-pass filter is included to block unwanted spikes, and standard insurance is provided for extra protection.

The output voltage can be easily changed via the bypass cable position, but if you don't need to adjust the input voltage, a bypass mode is available. Remember: preventing a crisis is always cheaper than fixing it!
