CWDM technology is designed to combine up to eight fiber connections and reduce costs in long-distance fiber installations.

Coarse Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (CWDM) (Kaba Dalga Boyu Bölmeli Çoklama) technology provides a solution to increase capacity.
Using multiple channels/wavelengths on the same fiber cable does not incur additional costs as it leverages the existing fiber infrastructure.

The MikroTik CWDM is a passive MUX/DEMUX unit that combines up to eight fiber connections. At the other location, the combined lines are split, requiring only one fiber cable instead of eight long fiber cables.

The CWDM solution allows signals to be transmitted and received across wavelengths from 1470 nm to 1610 nm, with up to 8 channels. A dual-fiber cable connects to two CWDM MUX/DEMUX units, each supporting the same wavelengths at the ends of the fiber optic network. Each CWDM unit has a filter set for a specific wavelength for a device.

Therefore, the specific wavelength must be correctly connected to the relevant port.
